This is Okapi » our mission
Our mission
Our mission is to bank the unbanked.
To empower people in rural areas by providing financial inclusion
To be the link between banks and rural areas in order to help rural people access banking services, such as transferring money but also other formal financial services
We do not aim to replace banks but rather to bring banks to people.

Okapi’s mission is to bank the unbanked, not by competing with banks but by being the link between banks and the unbanked, by bringing the bank to the people. Okapi services are particularly attractive in rural areas and wherever there is no access to a bank. Working with banks instead of competing with them is a basic feature of the Okapi concept, which differentiates Okapi from most competing services.

In line with Okapi’s mission, the company’s founder, who is convinced that the best way to fight poverty is to provide education, has decided to create the Okapi Educational Fund, OKEF. 10% of the profits of Okapi subsidiaries in each country will be directed to the OKEF. The OKEF will support programmes aimed at improving the conditions of poor and orphaned children and giving them an education for a better start in life.
